It's important that you the parent are not pressured into this stage before you are both ready. "You were potty trained at 1 year" from granny or "John is so good on the toilet and he isn't yet at playschool" from the pushy mum at toddler group, doesn't mean that you have to start toilet training your child. Each family is very different, and toilet training should be done to suit you and your child. Why not check out out pages "are you ready?" if you cant answer all the questions, the chances are that Potty training will take much longer, and be so much more frustrating.

It's aways a good idea to do some reading up, and check out what others found worked for them, but again each child marches to their own drum, and you might just find that you will achieve better results by waiting for a few months, remember being toilet trained is a skill be keep for life.
